Daniel Chandler

Daniel received his early musical education on the Fylde Coast in Lancashire. After studying in Manchester, he was awarded a place at the Royal College of Music in London where he studied with the renowned flautist and teacher, Susan Milan. As well as gaining a degree from the RCM, Danielhas a teaching qualification from Edge Hill University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Warwick.

For a number of years, Daniel was Director of Music at AKS Lytham where he directed the AKS Choral Society, Junior and Senior School Choirs, Girls’ Choir, Concert Band and a successful Swing Band in numerous performances in the UK and further afield. This included concerts in Westminster Abbey, Salzburg Cathedral, the Rhine Valley in Germany, as well as performances in St. Paul’s Chapel next to Ground Zero and at the United Nations in New York.

Danielis currently Assistant Head of Bolton Music Service. He now works with all sectors of the local community to increase access to quality music making, to raise standards of music education across schools and academies, and to provide exciting musical pathways for children through tuition as well as regional and national ensembles. He still manages to find time to continue performing, deliver workshops and adjudicate as a member of the British and International Federation of Festivals.

Elizabeth Emberson

Soprano

Elizabeth began serious singing lessons with Betty Middleton when she was 11 years old and quickly started to make her name on the Northern Music Festival circuit, winning many prizes. At 18, she gained a scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music, where she won many prizes for British Song, Oratorio and Opera, as well as two scholarships for continued study. She was also awarded a place on the Guildhall’s prestigious Opera Course. After graduating, Elizabeth embarked on a very successful solo career which saw her singing in France, Germany, Ireland and the UK.

With the arrival of her family, Elizabeth decided to concentrate on her teaching career, teaching at schools in Kent, Oxfordshire and the Midlands. She now divides her time between teaching at an exclusive girls’ school in Oxford, choral conducting, adjudicating for the British Federations of Festivals, as well as continui.

Ivan’s training included guitar performing under Oliver Hunt, Professor of Guitar at the London College of Music and master-classes in Spain with Emilio Pujol, a student of Francisco Tarrega. Since 1967,

Ivan has travelled to all parts of the UK presenting programmes of guitar music and songs to schoolchildren of all ages.Alongside his work as an adjudicator for The British and International Federation of Festivals, he is currently engaged in private tuition, teaching in schools in Milton Keynes areas and giving recitals and workshops in many parts of the UK.
